The City of Dryden is looking for a team player to fullfill the Asset and Facilities Specialist position. This is a permanent, full time supervisory position.

Reporting to the City of Dryden’s Manager of Public Works, the Asset and Facilities Specialist is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of asset and facility management strategies and frameworks, asset inspection/condition assessment, data analysis, assets performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting, deterioration patterning and lifecycle cost analysis all of which to support rehabilitation and replacement planning for City assets and facilities. The successful candidate will ensure best practice, accountability, consistency, and transparency for the building systems lifecycle renewal & replacement management. This position works in collaboration with senior management to facilitate the development of capital asset management strategy and policy and leads change initiatives to support an integrated approach to facilities/buildings and site infrastructure investment decision-making.

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Post-secondary education in the field of either; Facilities, Engineering, Business Management and/or Asset Management, or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.). Certified Asset Management Designation would be an Asset.
  • The ability to develop and implement asset management strategies, framework and ability associated Levels of Service (LOS), Key Performance Indicators (KPI), baseline data requirements, and process to collect required data.
  • Familiarity with asset data analysis, performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting, performance gap and failure mode analysis, risk assessment, deterioration pattern recognition and trending, determination of remaining asset life, comparison of maintenance costs with remaining asset values, lifecycle cost analysis, and development of preferred capital investment alternatives and options.
  • Demonstrated management experience with ability to lead, coach, motivate and manage staff. Management in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Experience working with Public Works Maintenance Management Systems, GIS, GPS and Asset Management.
  • Experience in preparing maintenance forecasts, providing technical customer service, project management and developing policies and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
